Training an untouched foal

Question
Hi
I recently got gifted a foal, I was told that she was halter broken but from having her I realise that this is not the case. She will feed from my hand and follow me around the field. She is stabled at night and she will follow me in and out when I have the feed bucket. However I can not get near her any more than that. There are other horses near her but there is a strand of electric fencing in between them. Could you please give me some advice on how I can get closer to her and be able to halter break her as at the moment I can't even catch her.

Thanks
Amanda

Answer
Watch the movie buck and see what happens when people try and raise a horse instead of letting horses raise horses.

Put that baby with a mare or gelding and let  them be together for a few weeks and then put them both in a herd, stop protecting the baby and stop being selfish and worrying about how you can touch and get close, that baby knows you are do not what you are doing and is being smart not letting you handle it.

If you  insist on wanting to just baby the horse and treat it like a pet or dog you end up making the horse dangerous and you will end up getting hurt or killed with the horse gets bigger. And the horse will be killed for your lack of knowledge.

You obviously have not read my web site or watched any of my 400 videos on youtube and your questions just screams of danger for you and that horse.
