Water turtle(some blisters in the body)

Question
QUESTION: I have 3 baby water turtles (green color). I have bought two of them just  10 days ago. It is about 4 days that some small white blisters have appeared in the body of the younger one. At first it was just ONE in his leg, but now it is expanding in the whole body( near ears, above the eyes and also his hand). He can not breath well and he opens his mouth moth of the time to breath. I found some parts of his leg( near to the shell ) has become red also the blisters exist there. He does not like to be in water and just sits in a corner on a stone. He does not eat also, and sometimes that he want to eat a very small meat, he must try 3 to 4 times to bit it and most of the time he loses his energy to continue and does not eat anything. It is about 2 days that I use antibiotic but it has become worse.
You can not imagine what is my feeling when I see him and I can not do anything for him. Is there any treatment? I think that the white blisters are due to some internal infections, any maybe he can not breath well due to some internal problems. Am I right? What can I do?

ANSWER: It would be helpful to know what the species is, but...

You are describing a couple different conditions- a skin infection and a respiratory infection. They most commonly occur together when the daily cares are badly flawed. Since they are so young, it might be that they were ill when you bought them.

It is against federal regulations to sell baby turtles in the US, so whenever you see them for sale, you already know that they are ignoring the government- which to me suggests that they may well also be ignoring basic care needs.

Sadly, the best way to treat the conditions you are describing is to take the turtles to a vet.

QUESTION: Hi,
Thank you very much for your answer. Yes, you are right, I noticed some redish in his legs when I bought him but I did not know it is due to his illness. But if he has septicemia (Blood Poisening), what antibiotics are useful for him.
You know! I went to a vet but she told me that it is fungoid, I am going to ask another vet visitin him,but I afraid that they can not help me.I'm really worried about his health and don't like to sit and see he is dieing:(
Do you know what antibiotics I can use????

Answer
The antibiotics you would need have to be injected in the right percentage of his body weight. I am sorry to say that not being a vet, I am not sure what antibiotic to recommend.

Perhaps someone on the forums http://www.turtleforum.com can answer that one.
