Question
Hi! I have a 3 yr old female RES.I am about to expand her habitat, and would like to introduce a new turtle. My present turtle, Sandy, is fairly active and aggressive. I'm afraid Sandy won't respond well to a new turtle. What is normal behavior for interaction? Do I just wait and watch and separate if they get too rough?

Answer
Hello. If you are already awaare to the aggressiveness of yur current turtle you may want to reconsider. The turtles as beautiful as htey are can hurt eachother terribly and caus einjury and vet costs.

It is normal for them to explore eachother and establish territory and there can be fighting, bitiing etc. I am not sure that I would recommend adding a nother one to a set up that is already dealing with aggression.

I would say that if you choose that youd like another turtle that you go to a rescue and adopt one and also that you keep them seperate..
