Question
Found a slider turtle what do I need to do to keep him alive.I beleive somebody
turned him loose.He wont come out  of his shell.

Hello JR,

If you want him to get out of his shell, you have to use calm and slow movements and let him know that he's safe. Eventually, you can try to draw him out with some food. Try boiled chicken, that's usually very appreciated. You'll also need to keep him warm.
However, if he doesn't comes out from his shell, you should perhaps contact a vet. There might be some injuries involved, so handle him very carefully.

I don't know whether you are going to keep him or not, but if you do, you should get a vivarium for your turtle. A 40 gallon tank is recommended.
You'll also need:
- Submersible water heater
- Water filter (Filtration system)
- UVA/UVB lamp (10.0)
- Heat lamp (For basking)
- Thermometers (To keep the temperatures)
- Basking area/platform
- Lamp fixture/reflector

Diet:
- Worms
- Snails
- Aquatic plants
(And a few times/week: Boiled chicken)
