Colimbian Red Tail Boa is lethargic

Question
I have to give you the back ground info first. She is 4 years old and about 5 and a half feet. She was attacked by a rat 3 weeks ago but was doing good. I have been giving her a bath daily and putting triple antibotic cream on her wounds and they have healed up as best as cam be expected so far. She acts like she has trouble seeing and her eyes are very clouded. And she is starting to shed. But today she seems to be lethargic and not wanting to move much. She also feels a little limp. She moved around in the bath but wont wrap around anything. I am very concerned for her, and can not find a vet in the area that takes snakes. If you can be of any help please respond to this. Thank you in advance.

Answer
First I am very sorry to hear about your boa getting attacked.  If it makes you feel any better you are definitly doing all the right things to help her heal well. But I highly suggest finding a Veterinarian that specializes in reptiles.  I understand there is not one in the area but you might just have to drive a ways.  She most likely has an infection that has spread from her wound to her insides. She needs the help of a Vet who can give her a shot of pencillin.  In the mean time, stop giving her a daily bath but continue to put the cream on her wound.  There is a possibility she will do better after her shed.  I wish you and your snake the best.
