Question
I have a two year old boa constrictor he was bread in captivity. He normally eats once a month. The problem is when we put the mouse in his cage he wasn't interested the mouse has been in the cage with him for two days now is that normal? Can the mouse hurt him? I'm so confused I don't know what to do. Please help!

Answer
Hi Kelly,

Never leave a mouse in the tank with your snake. The mouse can kill him.

Snakes will at time quit eating in the winter, this is normal. Continue to try to feed. I would however suggest that you feed at least every two weeks. This will help insure he is getting the right diet.

Hope this helps,
Eric
