Red Tail with Sever Scaring

Question
I just recently adopted/rescued a female colombian red tail. She is about 3 feet long. When i adopted her she was very malnourished and has sever scaring. Supposedly the scaring is from a heating mat. 3/4 of her underside is scared and in some places there isnt even scales.

Is there anything that i could apply to assist with her healing? she doesnt have any open wounds.

Also will her shed assist with the recovery of her underside?

Any info will be greatly appreciated and if i overlooked a previous post pertaining to this subject, my apologies.

Answer
If there are no open wounds then only time will help with healing.  Her belly will probably get better with each shed as long as she can shed somewhat normally.  YOu'll need tomake sure she gets through her sheds without trouble.  If she's eating that's a very good sign that she will survive.  If not, assist/force feeding may be needed.  Vet evaluation if you have a good one around might also be something to think about.
