Question
thank you for your answer it was v.helpfull i just have to ask your personal opinion on what u think of the freeze dried crickets that are avalible or the all in one food that doesnt need live feed, its just  i have been looking up information on bearded dragons and would really like to own one im just very sweamish when it comes to insects jumping about  and dont feel i could manage to use them. But did see some foods on the net that say you dont need to use live feed but do these really do what there spose to and would it upset the dragon not having live feed?

Answer
Pellets are really not a true all-in one food for beardies, the best of them is the Rep-cal because it's not mostly corn.  But I use it as garnish, especially the red ones.  If you have a baby dragon, he's gonna want his bugs moving so freeze-dried won't play.  You may want to try phoenix worms, because they're pourable, but they are too expensive for an everyday meals.
Zoo-med and Exoterra have bug's in a can.  Can o' Crickets however aren't well received.  But my adult beardies and yearlings really love Can o' Grasshoppers. But they are too big for babies and most juveniles.
Since you don't have one yet, why not check reptile rescues or a herp vet for an adult?  Then their are fewer bug meals to worry about and you could try the zophobas which you could feed with tongs (they're alive) or the canned grasshoppers.
Most of what you read in ads are just that...ads that want you to buy stuff.
The only other suggestion is to consider an herbivore, like a uromastyx if you really can't handle bugs.
