Mali Uromastyx - no poop in 5 days!!!

Question
My Mali Uromastyx is about a year old. I keep her on budgie seed as a substrate and feed her only veggies and fruit. She has not pooped in 5 days. I tried giving her a warm bath and massaging her belly but still no luck. I live in a small town with a vet that has no reptile experience otherwise I would just take her in right away. Any suggestions as to what I can do?

Answer
I'm not a fan of bird seed as a substrate.  A true sand dweller like a uro would be better of with washed, sifted children's playsand.  I would check the temps with a digital thermometer to make sure it hasn't lowered due to colder ambient temperature.  I would also go to www.arav.org and find the nearest reptile vet to you.  If he hasn't had a check up yet, he really should as soon as possible.  I would also soak his food overnight before serving to help move everything.  And as a last idea, give him a dollop of canned pumpkin (not spiced) which is a very good food that truly "moves the mail".
