Tree branch for beardie

Question
Greetings Pam. You've given me very good advice on two occasions, I'd like to thank you and ask one more question.

I want to put a tree branch in my bearded dragons enclosure. Would it be safe to put a branch from a tree in my yard? I have an orange tree, avocado, and what appears to be a crabapple. Are any of these safe? If safe to use would removing the bark, and baking it in the oven be enough to disinfect it? Thanks in advance.

Answer
I would go with the crabapple as avocados themselves are toxic for reptiles and orange may have aromatic oils that might disturb him.  I would remove the bark, bake at 200F to remove any living pests, then I would soak in a 10% bleach solution, then soak boiling water and let it dry outside for a few days until dry.
