Questionhi i am just trying to get some info on the breeding habbits of wd there courting and so on cheers for any help
AnswerHello Barry,
Do you plan on breeding? A male & female really should not be bred until they are around 2 years old.
They can try to mate as early as 6-8 months which is just too young.
The males will often headbob to the females, turning their beards & chests dark. If the female is receptive, she will usually arm wave to him, & assuming they are old enough, most likely will mate with no problem.
You do not want to house them together all year round though, just for a brief period of time to mate & that is it. Housing a male & female together all year can greatly stress the female out, & cause egg binding issues.
