Question
Hi, I have Indian stick insects that feed on privet(I know this plant has toxins) are these safe to be fed to my Bearded Dragons. If not if I change the insects diet to bramble how long would it take for insects to be safe for my Dragon. I like to give my dragons variety at the moment they eat: crickets, locusts, meal/mario worms, wax worms, fruit larva aswell as fruit and veg. I am becoming over run with indian insects. Thanks inadvance

Answer
Dear Maz,
thank you for your question.
Privet is only mildly toxic and feeding the stick insect as a part of the dragon's diet should not be a problem. The toxins occur on other plants that dragon can eat and only a small part will be left in the stick insects.
I hope I was of some help to you
Jennifer
