Leopard Gecko Dull

Question
I have a female leopard gecko. She is just over a year old.  She is a dull color and has been for a few days. Her appetite is down and doing a lot of sleeping.  Her temp in the tank is around 80-84 degrees in the day and about 75-80 at night. we recently had sand in the tank and upon reading numerous websites we promptly removed it.  I was thinking that she was just going to be shedding but now I am not sure.  Another question is the humidity.  I know they are desert animals but need some humidity at all times. what is a good level to have that at and the best way to get it?  thanks for taking the time to read this

Answer
Hello Molly,

Well, great you removed the sand, as that will cause impaction.
The dull color is most likely an upcoming shed.  As adults, it takes them a bit longer to shed than babies.
What do you use to measure the temps with?
There does need to be a humid hide maintained daily, of at least 50% in the humid hide.  The humidity aids in shed.  I use a wet or dampened sponge & just wet it down daily.  I put the hide above the undertank heater.
