Some questions about substrate

Question
Hi, I wanted to ask about a suitable substrate for a leopard gecko. Right now I have crushed walnut shell-which, I found out, is similar to sand because it can become ingested. SO, I was wondering if you have a recommendation on what substrate would be best to use. People keep saying that paper towel is the best substrate to use, but I would like to find something natural looking and safe.

Answer
Hello Angela,

I get my leopard gecko's substrate from Petco

It is $2.99 (US Dollars) a roll for a ten gallon tank.

It is compressed coconut fiber fitted to roll out as carpet.
It is made for Hermit Crabs as a climbing background for tanks but works wonders for leopard gecko substrate.

Reptile carpet, or indoor/outdoor carpet are the other options. Be careful the threads dont come loose or fray.

Good luck
