Hey, why do my turtles face each other and shake their two front hands at each other really fast. I just got them they are about 4" and i don't know the sex of them yet. Could they be mating or something.

Adam,                                                                  This behavior is usually exhibited by males trying to become dominant. Since your guys are abit small you probably won't be able to sex them yet. Males usually have longer front claws and a fatter shorter tail than the females. If they keep up with this behavior it may get nothing,but worse keep an eye on them make sure they are not scratching each other. If they are both female in some cases they can do the same thing for awhile until they figure out which is the more dominant female it won't go on for long....Good Luck,Tina
