Hi Frank,
All reptiles carry the risk of salmonella, and more-so with wild caught reptiles. They(wild caught) can also carry diseases that can harm other reptiles in the home. All reptiles carry parasites, which they actually need a small amount for proper digestion.
I do not recommend keeping wild caught reptiles.
With all reptiles, proper hand washing, etc needs to be practiced, basically the same as should be practiced in everyday life.
