QUESTION: How do I get my bearded dragon's terrarium to heat up faster? it seems to take a while.

Do i need a higher wattage my zoo med light is 100 watts

ANSWER: Hello Teddy,

What sized tank are you using for your bearded dragon & what type of thermometer do you use to measure the temperature with?
The basking ranges need to be 95-110 on one end with a cooler end being around 78-82 for him.
Are you using a UVB light as well?
What type of basking light are you using, a bright white light or a colored light?

QUESTION: I am using a 40 gallon tank with a bright white zoomed basking light. Yes I have a reptisun 10.0 reptisun uvb bulb and a fluker's digital thermometer.

Answer
Hello Teddy,

Hm, well, what are your temps getting to?
I would think, that a 100 watt basking light should be getting the temperatures up to the proper range.  The Reptisun 10 is it a long tube bulb or a compact/coil light?
Do you have the basking light directly beside the UVB light on one end of the tank?
