Question
I have a 2 year old bearded dragon, who in the last 2 weeks has hardly done anything, he seems to be bloated, and hasn't went to the pot in about 2 weeks, I let him start running the house about this same time. Can you please tell me what I could give him to unconstipate him? Thank You!

Answer
Hello Amy,

Well, let's review your tank setup to determine what could be the cause of his problems.
Do you give regular calcium supplementation?  At 2 years of age, he still needs calcium 3 times per week, to help maintain healthy bones.
Are you using a good UVB light, & if so, what type & brand of UVB is it?  A fluorescent tube bulb or a compact/coil light?  How old is the UVB light?
What type of substrate are you using, sand, tiles, paper towels?
Do you know what the temperatures are in the tank currently?  What type of thermometer are you using, a round stick on type, a digital probe or a temp gun?
You can begin by giving extra baths, & some oral fluids daily with a plastic syringe or a plastic dropper to help with hydration in case he is dehydrated slightly.
What are you feeding him right now?
He could also be impacted with something, especially if you are using a loose substrate.
