Male rabbits in the same cage?

Question
Hello

I am thinking about getting a pair or trio or young male dwarf cross bunnies, I was wondering if they grow up together would they still need to be neutered? If so what age should I have it done? How do I pick a good vet? Would a 3x2x2 foot cage be a good size for them for a few months? How long do dwarf rabbits normaly live? Could you give me any tips on taming bunnies? Does each rabbit have a different temper? How large would a dwarf cross bunnie get?

Thanks

Answer
It is highly recommended that you still have them neutered, because sexually mature unneutered male rabbits will make their lives and yours miserable.  They will mount, and spray everything (walls, floors, they aren't particular), and it's really not fun.

Male rabbits can be neutered at about 4 months of age, when their male parts can be seen.

You might want to read this FAQ about finding a vet: http://www.rabbit.org/faq/sections/vet.html

The cage size you list would be fine for them for the time being, as long as they can all stretch out at the same time with their litterbox and food bowl and water bowl (or bottle) in the cage.  You can always go to a larger one later.

You don't really tame bunnies, you work with their personality to establish routines that work for them and for you (which can include petting and games).  Every rabbit has their own personality.

Not knowing what the rabbit's are crossed with, they could be anywhere from 3-10 pounds.  Most mixed breed bunnies I have worked with are 5-8 pounds, but again depends on what the Dwarf part was mixed with.

I hope this helps you out.
