Question
My 12 year old daughter has recently gotten into rabbits. She wants to show and breed them. I understand that they need exercise. What types of things do I do to provide them with exercise and how much exercise do they need? How do I exercise them?

Answer
Hi Tammy,
First of all I don't think that it is a very good idea at all for your 12 year old daughter to breed rabbits, breeding rabbits is very first of all expensive and also time consuming (I presume she goes to school?) She would not have enough time to spend with all the bunnies, to keep them tame or clean. Also where do you live? Because back here in england I don't agree with breeding anyway because there is an overpopulation of rabbits who are in rescue centres having been abandoned and neglected.
Rabbits need a lot of excersise for a medium sized bunny a 5ft hutch is needed, this would account for babies aswell. They should be puut in this at night and put in an 8ft x 4ft run in the day. This is just for ONE rabbit. For 2 you will need a 10ft x 5ft run and a 6ft hutch. I really hope you reconsider letting your daughter breed, wait till she's 16 maybe? Or don't at all?
I hope this helps
Katie
