Rabbit interaction

Question
I have two rabbits living together in the same cage. They have been living together since they were born and they're about 5 months old right now. Recently I've noticed one of the rabbit(Rainy) loves to lick (Snowy)the other one's eyes, causing her(Snowy) to lose a lot of fur around the eye area (and I can see the skin in that area). I'm wondering whether that is a normal behaviour, and if there is any ways of stopping this rather than seperating them. Because whenever Rainy interacts with other rabbits (my friend's rabbits), Rainy tends to go and lick their eyes as well. This is quite worrisome.

Thank you for your time. :)

Answer
That's not actually normal behavior, she is overgrooming the area.  Some bunnies do this because they like to, and some because they are too lazy to move on and groom another area.  As long as Snowy doesn't seem upset by it, I wouldn't worry about it.  If Snowy doesn't have any discharge from her eyes, then there should be nothing to transmit.

There is some information on this if you would like to check it out at http://homepage.mac.com/mattocks/morfz/rabcare.html#overgrooming
