Question
HI,
This Is Julia, My rabbit,Cookie, Is all of the sudden acting strange and screaming really loud,so my mom tried to palpate her. So she felt this kind-of small thingy, and let me feel. Right once my mom moved her finger, cookie was screaming really loud, and so we left her alone. Later,We couldn't feel it anymore!! But the problem is that she escaped about 1-2 weeks ago, but we also tried to mate her with my other bunny before that!! HELP!!

Answer
Hi Julia

The absolute only time a rabbit will scream is when she is in severe pain or dying.  It is imperative that you get your rabbit to a vet immediately.  If she is screaming then she is in pain.  Rabbits generally hide their pain so that predators won't find them.  For a rabbit to scream it means the pain is so horrific that they don't care if a predator finds them.

To find a vet in your area please visit the following site

If you can't find one in your immediate area you may have to drive a bit.  There aren't always exotic pet vets everywhere and sometimes it is a 2 or 3 hour drive but it is certainly worth it to save your animals life.  If you still can't find one then start searching through your phone book and calling every vet and animal hospital and SPCA or animal rescue, someone should be able to tell you where the nearest exotic pet vet in your area is.

Good luck and I really hope that Cookie will be ok.

Sincerely,

Pam
