Possible cat attack...

Question
Lee,
My wife found (2 days ago) a wild rabbit which has lost almost full function of the front half of it's body, the rear appears to be fine.
However on one side of the neck/shoulder area there are two distinct puncture wounds which have scabbed over.
She is giving the bunny basic fluids and seems to be responding though the legs at the front appear to have "crossed" and still lame.
The bunny doesn't appear to be in pain though the parents (local rabbits) have disowned it.
Is there anything "special" treatment wise or possible delay in recovery time I am unsure what timescale we'd be looking at.
I am certain it hasn't a broken neck or back as the rear legs are functioning perfectly.
Balance is improving very slowly but is now able to sit for periods of time where when it was found it couldn't sit at all.

Many thanks in advance

Peter

Answer
Hi Peter,

I would probably give him some vitamin e from a gel capsule, just poke a hole in the capsule and feed it to him with some petromalt.

I also would take him to a good rabbit vet if possible because if those are cat puncture wounds, they will get infected as cats' mouths have a ton of lethal, bad bacteria in them designed to weaken prey.

I also would take him in to get him a rabies shot if they can give him one, if its from an animal other than a cat.  Rabies apparently is making a comeback among wild aninals, and you don't want to contract it either.
