Question
QUESTION: 1)we found a rabbit about a week ago and i don't know if she was mating with other males we don't know before we found her how do i know if she is pregnant?

2)i am scared she will escape if i let her outside and if i put a collar or leash on her she bites it what do i do?

ANSWER: Is she a domestic rabbit?  You said you found her?  If she was around other domestic rabbits she very well could be pregnant.  You have no way of knowing until she starts to make a nest.  Domestic rabbits can not reproduce with wild rabbits.  They are 2 totally different species, it would be like a cow trying to breed with a giraffe.

You need to take her to a vet for examination.  I will tell you why.  She has been dumped.  Who knows how long she has been out.  Wild rabbits carry dangerous diseases.  She probably has mites, ticks and fleas.  She very well could have coccidiosis which could kill her.  She may end up with wry-neck if not treated.

Any rabbit found in the wild absolutely needs medical attention even if they appear healthy.

About collars and leashes-- they are dangerous.  Rabbits spines are not very strong.  One strong kick and she could break her back and be paralyzed for life.  If you were successful at getting the leash on her and you were outside walking and a dog or cat or even the wind frightened her and she jumped, the harness could literally snap her back.

If you want to let her outside to play then make a fenced in yard or play area for her.  You can buy rabbit and animal runs at the pet stores.  Just don't leave her out there alone.  When ever you let her out just stay out there with her or work in your garden etc.

This rabbit has been abandoned and probably abused.  She will need love and attention before she gains your complete trust.  Give her time and be gentle with her.  Try playing with her in the house until she is used to you.  Give her time to realize that you aren't going to hurt her.  Then when you go outside she will be so used to you that she probably won't wander to far.

Good luck

QUESTION: how do i know when my rabbit is making a nest what does it look like

Answer
She will start pulling her own fur.  She will start gathering some of the hay that you feed her and will carry it around in her mouth.  Generally they don't make the whole nest until right before the babies are born, but if she is running around with fur or hay in her mouth then there is a good chance she is pregnant.

Good luck
