Question
I just found out that my bunny has ear mites:Psoroptes Cunicul and I am wondering if i get get a treatment that is called Ivermectin in a pet store?

Answer
Dear Berenice,

Ivermectin is an injection drug, and I would not recommend you give this without a vet's supervision.  It is available over the counter in some feed stores, but you'll need a proper dosage and instructions for how to administer.

A better option is Revolution (selamectin), a topically applied relative of ivermectin that works longer and is very safe and effective for rabbits.  You can find a rabbit vet here:

www.rabbit.org/vets

and read more about treatment here:

Please do get this treated ASAP, as it is quite painful.

I hope this helps.
