Keeping my bun healthy/ Pest control

Question
This may be a weird question, but I recently adopted a 2 year old dutch girl bun (Dutches). I also recently moved to an apartment that would allow a pet rabbit. This is my first pet, I wanted to start off small, and was aware of bun behavior. I bought Rabbits for dummies, but my new apartment has a slight (really slight roach) problem. That can be addressed w/ pest control products. I'm just not sure if I can address it b/c of my bun. I decided i would use the little houses you put on the floor in my kithen (the bun doesn't have access to this room and I figured this would be the safest way. The problem is this isn't working for the pest and i may have to bring dutches to a friend house to have the problem addressed.

I wanted to know how long should that be? Or can I even use anything, would it be too harmfull for the bun? I don't want to move again and I do want to keep my bun w/ have been together 1 1/2 monthes, and she really likes it here. I really need to get rid of these pests though. What should I do to keep my bun safe? Alse are roaches harmful to buns?

Answer
If your apartment complex doesn't do pest control, I would check to see if there is a pest control service in your area that does pet and environmentally safe pest control methods (like boric acid).  There is a company called Fleabusters that does this, but in your area they may not do roaches.

Right now keep Dutches away from the roaches as much as you can.  They aren't harmful unless they start getting in their food and water because then they could contaminate it.

If your apartment is going to use chemicals, be sure to keep the bunny out for several days at least.  I am highly allergic to chemical pesticides, so if I can't stand to be in the house, I know the bunnies can't be either.  Then keep her away from baseboards and other areas that have been sprayed so she doesn't ingest any of the pesticide.
