Question
Hi Dave

I two weeks ago purchase two brothers - lop eared rabbits they were 6 weeks old.  Yesterday went outside to cage and one had died.  Can you please set me straight,

1)  What may have happened?

2)  Is it ok for little young ones to live in cage outside

3)  Is it a true you cannot feed young rabbits veg until 16 weeks old.

I let them out for a run around, and they ate grass, I hope it was not my fault for letting one of them die.

Thanks

jane

Answer
hi jane its ok for yong to live outside but they need just a dry rabbit mix to eat-and I would not feed any veg until about 12 weeks old.
the grass may have affected them but in the wild the rabbits survive ok on it.
it was probably stressed from having to leave its mum
