QuestionMy Rexrabbit just choked on some food (either pellets or a small piece of carrott). I was there when it happened, and in a second she choked, tried to throw up, panicked and lots of saliva from her mouth and her nose. I picked her, tried emptying her mouth (just a tiny mushed pellet came out). I then started running towards the vet as her breathing was very laboured and her lungs sounded full with water. The vet checked her mouth, listened to her lungs and gave her an injection of Dexametason. This is 30 minutes ago. She is still breathing heavy. Do you have any suggestions? I love her to bits and would hate to loose her!

AnswerWhen choking she must have gotten a little bit of fluid in her lungs. The shot should help her. If she changes for the worse just take her back to your vet. I have never had a rabbit choke before. This is a bit strange.
