My pregnant(?) rabbit

Question
Okay, apparently my 2 bunnies are male and female.  I noticed about a week or so ago that my one, (Ebony), was becoming very aggressive; then yesterday I noticed in her cage (they are outside rabbits) a lot of fur, as for bedding.  My first question is, how long before she has any babies is she is "nesting"? And, I seperated Ebony from my male - whose name was Honey but I guess is not an appropriate name now - when could they be put back in the same cage or can they never be put back in the same cage?

Answer
She could be as far as 2 weeks from having the babies to ready to have them any moment. Usually, though, when rabbits start making a nest, they are a week or less from giving birth.

I would recommend getting the male neutered before placing them back together. That way you will not end up with any more surprises, and you will not risk the female dieing due to being pregnant with multiple litters. Rabbits can have two different aged litters at a time, one in each uterine horn. Humans cannot do this because only one uterine horn works, but both sides work in rabbits. The problem is that it can be very dangerous for both the babies and the mother if this happens.

The male should not be placed in with the female until the babies are fully weaned (no longer nursing) from the mother, anyway, so it will give you plenty of time for him to get neutered and heal.
