Question
i have 7 bunnies now but theirs more to come in a couple of days but i want to sell them and keep 2, is it better to keep 2 males or 2 females to live togather ( i cant get them nutered or spayed) also do they have to be from the same litter cause the mother got 2 bunnies than a monthe after she got 5 and in a couple days she'll have more, so if i pick 2 that were not born in the same time (monthe diffrence in age) will they have problems when they grow up like fight or dislike each other or will they be fine cause now all the bunnies get along really fine they sleep next each other preen etc. but i know when rabbits are over 3 monthes they change their attitude with each other. sorry for all the ? but im really confused and need help on which 2 to keep and keep forever, i dont want them to hate each other when they grow up and then im forced to give them away cause i know the 2 that im going to keep i will be very attached to."

Answer
Dear Pryanka,

Please read this important article:

www.bio.miami.edu/hare/breeding.html

If you have two parents, then they should be allowed to stay together, as they are probably bonded.  Both should be spayed/neutered so there will be no more litters!

Any rabbits should be spayed/neutered for their health and longevity.  Please read:

www.rabbit.org/health/spay.html

If any of your rabbits are getting along well, have them spayed/neutered and KEEP THEM TOGETHER.  It is very cruel to separate bonded rabbits, as they form very strong attachments.

I hope this helps.
