Question
I have a New Zealand white rabbit who is VERY large. We used to keep her in the house, but i felt bad because her cage seemed too small, so I put her in a hutch in the garage. We live in Vermont and it's now winter. I thought she would be fine, but it seems way too cold. My problem is that I'm having a hard time finding an affordable indoor cage that's big enough for her. Help?

Answer
Some things I've used that might work are puppy pens or a large dog crate.  You might be able to pick up either used.

Another alternative is to build a cage using the NIC cube panels.  I've used these to build guinea pig cages.  They're inexpensive if you have a Target in your area.  For rabbits, and your big girl, you would need to reinforce the grids.

This site has some ideas for cages.  You'll probably have to use bigger reinforcements for a large rabbit:

This site has more NIC cube cage examples:

And as this last link pointed out, you can use the NIC cubes to build a puppy pen structure.

And this site has a long list of cages you can build:

I hope something in one of those links will work for you and your large girl.
