Question
i have two dwarf bunnys. a dutch and a lionhead. my dutch loves romain lettuce and various herbs  and a few other vegatables. my lionhead does not eat any vegatables!   she will eat carrots and that is eat. her diet consists of hay, pellets 1/2 a carrot a day, a slice of toast a day and occasianally a little piece of banana. my dutch eats the same thing but he also eats a mix of veggies   its this a healthy diet for them? how do i get my lionhead to eat her vegatables?

Answer
Dear Sheri,

Well, for one thing that is WAY too much toast!  Please see an overview of healthy diet here:

Lionhead rabbits are notorious for having dental problems such as molar spurs.  So that's the first thing I'd ask my trusted rabbit vet to check:

since dental discomfort can cause picky eating habits.  Please read:

We found that our little foster lionhead (Rufus) will eat his vegetables if we cut them up in little slices for him.  He has some dental problems, and that seems to help.  It might be worth a try.

Hope this helps.
