Question
heyy my name is mariah. i have a male dutch rabbit thats not even a year old. he has been acting really agressive lately. he used to be a very lovable rabbit but now he just bites all the time and he grunts alot. do u think getting him fixed will help? and how do i stop him from biting?

Answer
Hi Mariah

Recently I have had a large amount of male rabbits who seem to have this issue.  The best way to get him calmed down and to stop biting is to get him fixed.  I have no doubt that it will help.

Every time he bites you let out a loud shriek.  He will know he is hurting you and he may or may not stop.  Honestly I have a little 5 month old monster in my home right now who has just recently taken to biting.  Last night my hand was at least 3 feet away from him while I was feeding him.  He jumped 3 feet in the air and latched onto my little pinky finger.  He hung there for what felt like hours before I was able to get him to let go.  I have never in my life had a rabbit act this way towards me.  I tried the shrieking thing and it didn't work.  I just wanted you to know that it doesn't always work.

Just remember that your boy is in his teenage years.  He probably won't grow out of it, but once you get his hormones straight he should be the same happy bunny that you once had.

Good luck and if you have any further questions please let me know.
