Breeders

Question
I live in Oregon and am tired of the rising cost of meat in the stores, not to mention the hormones and other things that are put into our meat. So I have decided to raise my own. I live in the subs of Portland but have a .25ac. property with full basement. What type of rabbits is best for my needs and can you recommend a breeder for me to purchase from? hi sabrina -orry i live in the uk and dont know oregon.
keeping rabbits inside a basement will be difficult -you need plenty of does to produce young and a stud buck. you will have to get rid of all their dirt weekly and the smell will be overpowering food will be dear and you need a lot of cages .
in the uk one commercial venture has up to 500 rabbits and the turn over of rabbits is very high but it barely makes a profit.
