Question
Hi Dana!

I'm a new mommy to a 6 week old bunny named Chibi and I had a question regarding the dosage of Revolution. Is it safe for me to give him the medication and how much should I give him? I bought the pink package for puppies/kittens. He has fur mites and is scratching like crazy! I really want him to get better soon. :D

Answer
Dear Vi,

You will need to get an accurate weight for the bunny before dosing.  Revolution is dosed at 6mg/kg once every 3-4 weeks.  If you have the puppy/kitten solution, its concentration is 60mg/ml, and that means that for every 1kg of bunny you will apply 0.1cc (you'll need a very fine-increment syringe from the vet).

Don't apply this without veterinary supervision.  Revolution is safe even for very young bunnies, but you want to be sure you get the right dose, and the vet is probably the only one who has a scale that's accurate enough to get the right reading on your little bunny.

I hope this helps.

Dana
