Singing for rabbits?

22 10:14:16

Question
I was wondering if pet rabbits like their owners to sing to them? Maybe it is my imagination but everytime I sing to my rabbit Shadow he seems to listen and reacts to it (looks at me,or kisses me, or generally pays attention to me). Do rabbits notice singing and do they watch tv? I know it sounds crazy but, our bunny is in the living room with us and it seems like he reacts to the tv too?! Maybe I am being silly!!??

Dear Michele,

You're not being silly, and that's not a silly question at all.  Rabbits are very responsive to sounds and their environment, and your bunny appears to like your singing.  He may find it comforting and pleasant, and if he kisses you when you sing to him...what a great compliment!  You're making him happy.  :)

Yes, rabbits react to television, music on the radio, etc.  They are very intelligent, attentive animals, and each one has personal preferences about music (though they tend to prefer things that are not high pitched and that don't have loud percussion).

So enjoy your bunny and I'm glad he's enjoying you!  :)
