Question
Hi, I just wondered if you knew anything about netherland dwarfs. I'm told that they can have serious dental problems because they are breed to have small heads and their teeth grow at the wrong angles. Do you know how likely this is to happen to the average netherland dwarf rabbit?

Answer
Hello Rach!
Well they sometimes have teeth problems but it is more of a genetic problem and it can be breed out of most rabbits.
It is a resessive gene and must not be bred, most breeders no not keep rabbits with the genes that produce buck teeth. but most end up in pet stores or feed stores and that is how so many beginners get these rabbits with so many problems. it is a problem with all types of rabbits not just netherland`s. so stay away from pet store rabbits and buy from a good well known breeder. and ask to see pedigrees from the stock you purchase.
Good Luck
Dan
