My rabbit wont hop he walks and sometimes he drags his  rear legs, his rear area drops to one side but not all the time I also noticed there was a creamy waxy stuff in his ears I took him to the Vet. as soon as I noticed it and she checked for ear mites but she said he didn't have them but she said he had an inner ear infection and suggested putting him down he is 5 yrs old and he has glaucoma and has had one eye removed because of it.I really don't want to put my rabbit down if I don't want to other than the above symptoms he eats and grooms himself as usual Please help

Answer
Dear Talmia,

Please check the list here:

www.rabbit.org/vets

for a second opinion from an experienced rabbit vet. Please also read:

www.bio.miami.edu/hare/paresis.html

And if possible, get a referral for a veterinary ophthalmologist who can evaluate the remaining eye. This could be just one of many problems.

This, too, will be helpful:

www.bio.miami.edu/hare/culture.html

and

and

I hope your bunny will be better soon.
