QuestionHello, my question is can you feed a pet rabbit, mini lop, rape, or forage rape. It is grown in our area in abundance this time of year by farmers.
AnswerHi,
from what I have read from other rabbit owners who have had first-hand experience with brassica-family vegetation, I would say not to do so. Gas is a big issue with these types of plants. I would avoid it. I specifically found people who had lop-eared rabbits that said they would avoid it particularly for their lops as they noted they had more problems with it than even other rabbits. But once I know of a plant prone to cause gas in rabbits, personally, I avoid it. There are so much better and safer things they like to eat that are available in quantity that I can eat too.
