Spaying - aftercare

Question
hello, I have 2 bonded female Mini Rex's called Sausage & Beans that will soon be 5 months old so I plan to have them spayed. They currently live in a large double decker hutch. Will they be ok to recover in this hutch or is there a chance they could injure themselves on the ladder? (it is quite steep)

Answer
Dear Debbie,

Right after surgery you'll want to limit their movement a bit, though they will probably be in enough discomfort to do that themselves.  I'd recommend for the night they come home to set them up in a safe, clean room (bathroom?), making sure they can't jump on anything and hurt themselves.

They can be transferred to their hutch the next day, if they are feeling well enough.  But if it's an outdoor hutch, please see:

They should be inside for a few days before they are allowed out again, to be safe.

Hope this helps.
