giant rabbit has 1 swallon nipple

hi my giant rabbit marge seems to have developed 1 swallon
nipple it is not cracked or a funny colour but it is quite
big.... she lets you handle her fine because she lives
indoor & outside & is constantly around us so i have had a
good look at it & she dosen't flinch so i don't think this
is painfull for her. have you ever experienced this with
your rabbits or have you ever heard of anything like this.
she has not been spayed & i can't see how she can posssibly
be pregnant cause even when she is out in the garden she is
always close to the house. she is 3 years old & perfectly
healthy in every way & up to date with all her vaccinations
& has regular vet checks. would be interested in your
opinion. thank you.

Hi,

it's mastitis or something like that.  I strongly recommend getting her in to your good regular rabbit vet for an exam.  There may be some pain but a good antibiotic will help and metacam (for pain) also will reduce swelling.
