Lop-eared albino rabbit

Hi there,

We have a pet lop-eared rabbit which we found.  We have managed to get him using the litter tray to urinate but can't get him to use it for defecating in.  He usually goes on a mat beside the litter tray for that.  Is there anything other than perseverance and praise to get him to?

Hi Leayne,

The best I can tell you is to try putting hay in the litter pan.  They like to eat hay while they poop.  Don't ask me bunnies are weird that way but it does work.  Our rabbit will absolutely not use her pan unless there is hay in it.

Make sure to clean up all the pellets right away and put them into the litter pan.  He should eventually figure out that is where he is supposed to go.
