Question
Hi Dana, Just wanted to update you on the wild bunny in our house  - He/she is doing great. There were "issues" with letting her roam day and night throughout the house with 6 cats as in she would keep dropping to mark her territory (I think it might have been in reaction to new outside smells). It was becoming a real problem (marriage is still hanging by a thread and that was not helping) so I bought a baby gate and now her territory is the bedroom she shares with my son (under his bed warren since she was about 3 weeks old) and it has really made a difference. Bunny is almost always happy when I'm with her and that is alot. she uses the litterbox almost 100% I think since she feels no reason to mark. She has the big room and the occaisional forays to the other rooms while Michael and I and the cats move in and out of "her" room. The predictible day to day routine is critical I think. There are so many things I could share regarding this rabbit that it would just be tedious. This is simply a very intelligent, playful and happy creature. One snapshot - I looked in on Michael while he was in his room reading and two feet from him was our pear bodied low selfesteemed cat that the other cats just HATE - relaxing. One foot from her was bunny  - in the middle of the room on her side. All of them content in their world. I'll never forget it since I could be happy for each of them. I thought of this after I watched a hawk fly away with a squirrel from our yard last week. Glanced at the Michael/bunny bedroom window and felt pretty damned good. Brian

Answer
Dear Brian,

What a wonderful note!  Thank you for sharing.

Believe me, stories like this are NOT tedious, and I seriously think you should write them all down in a Cottie Journal.  Who knows?  Some day you may publish it, and you would be STUNNED to learn how many people would pay good money to read about your wonderful little wild soul.  (I know I would!)

So get started on that book.  We're all waiting!

Take care,
Dana
