QuestionHello,
I have a three year old rabbit, she is 1/4 english spot 1/4 dwarf and then whatever her dad is lol, possibly some rex. I was breeding for a while, and have had many litters and never seen this before. She is the only one i have at the point. She is shedding her winter coat, (she is indoors), and is loosing a substantial amount of fur, to the point where her skin is showing. I have never had this happen with any of my other rabbits, and i want to know if i need to take her to the vet.
Thank you so much for your time! If you need to know more please let me know and i will tell you all i can.
Sincerely,
Olivia.
AnswerDear Olivia,
Please read:
www.bio.miami.edu/hare/furloss.html
and find a rabbit-savvy vet here:
www.rabbit.org/vets
who can properly diagnose and prescribe appropriate treatment, if there is a pathology causing the fur loss.
Hope this helps.
