QuestionOur baby girl is 1 month old. She was fine up until a week
ago. She fall down and screams a lot. She looked like she
was having trouble going to the bathroom so we tried an
enima. I thought maybe she had the dippity but this has
been a week. Her tummy seems pretty hard. Sometimes she
will get up and walk(a little stiff) and other times she
just wants to lay down and she is in pain. Please help.
AnswerHello,
No piglets should be away from their mother at that age.
They need to be weaned only after they are eating piglet chow well.
You should take her to your Veterinarian immediately.
This is a warning to others not to not let a breeder sell you a piglet before it is old enough to be away from it's mother and not before it is eating well on it's own for at least two weeks.
The proper age for in not before 8 weeks of age.
A reputable breeder will not place a piglet at 2 or 3 weeks old.
Good luck,
Patty
