ANSWER: First, please let me apologize for the delay in responding. Your question and the notices from AllExperts went into my spam folder.

It sounds like there's a number of issues here. I highly recommend the book Pot-Bellied Pig Behavior and Training by Priscilla Valentine. She addresses all the issues I'll discuss here, and more, in much more detail than I can go into here.

Pigs normally do not eat their own excrement. This is a sign of a problem, possibly a nutritional one. A 4 month old piglet should be about 16 pounds and getting at least 1/2 cup of pot-bellied pig pellets per day, along with veggies and fruits, divided into two meals.

Another possibility is boredom. Small piglets should be confined to a limited area, such as one room at a time. Piglets imprisoned in tiny crates for hours on end get, literally "stir crazy" and will do things like eat their own poop, simply because there is nothing else for them to do.

So if piggy is getting a good diet and has room to move around comfortably and toys to play with and is still eating his excrement, he will need to see a vet. There's a list of vets that treat pot-bellied pigs here  farec.org

Pigs can be "bratty" on purpose, but rarely pee out of anger. Pigs need constant access to fresh water. A dehydrated pig will hold his urine until he is drinking, and will pee while he drinks.

The problem is usually that the pig has learned to pee in a particular spot. Tiny piglets leave tiny wee-wee spots, so tiny that people often don't notice them. As the piglet grows, the spots get bigger, and people start to notice. Now the pig has been peeing in the spot all along, so in his mind, he isn't doing anything wrong. But to the people, it looks like the pig has "forgotten" his potty training, or is peeing in spite.

The thing to do here is start potty training all over again. Confine piggy to a reasonable sized area, like one room, with a litter box, or keep piggy right at your side. Take piggy to the potty when he wakes up, before you take him out of the area, before and after every meal, and when he wakes up from a nap. If he's spending time with you, take him to potty every hour. Do not let him leave his box until he has actually gone potty. The idea is to make sure he's so empty he doesn't need to have an accident.

Clean the accident spots thoroughly with any good pet odor neutralizer. If possible, arrange things or set up baby gates so that piggy can not reach that spot at all. If he will be going near that spot for any reason, take him to his potty box first.

Is your piggy neutered? Intact male pigs have a strong mating instinct. He may be biting the dogs in an attempt to mate. Intact males also have a strong odor. Female pigs adore it, but most people don't. The only solution to the mating behavior and the odor is to have the pig neutered. There's a list of vets that see pot-bellied pigs here farec.org

To train him, start with no treats except for training. Feed him his meals before training, so he is not too hungry to concentrate on tricks. Also, take him potty first, so he isn't thinking about that, either. Start with something simple, like "Spin". Hold the treat above and in front of his head, and use it to guide him around in a circle while saying "Spin". When he's gone around once, give him the treat and tell him he's a good pig.

QUESTION: thank you so much 1 more thing he pooped in the living room
yesterday what do i do?????? and what do they like to play
with?

Answer
Clean the spot where he popped with a product designed to remove pet odors. Make sure he poops in his potty box. If he usually poops in the morning, make sure he poops in his box first thing in the morning.

Pigs love toys with food. They also enjoy toys that make noise. You can make a busy ball out of an empty 2 liter soda bottle by punching holes in it. Put treats inside the bottle (the treats must be small enough to fall out the holes as the bottle rolls), put the cap on, and let piggy push it around. Some pigs enjoy toys made for dogs or cats that make noise, and some enjoy human infant toys.
