Question
My Bella is almost a year old. I went and got another pig
today she is still a baby. Bella seems to be very afraid of
the new baby, i let her out of the fence to bring her in
the house and she ended up running down my driveway
and about a mile more. When i finally caught her and
got her put in my Jeep she was foaming on her mouth
and will not eat or drink. I just tried to introduce them
again and she started chopping her jaw. What should i
do?

Answer
First, let me apologize for the delay in responding. Your question, along with the notice from AllExperts, went into my spam folder.

Piggies often do not like to meet new pigs. The introductions can be a little rough, but once the piggies work things out between them, they will be fast friends.

The chopping and foaming are signs of anger and stress. Bella is probably a submissive pig, and unsure of the baby.

The best way to introduce piggies is to let them see and smell each other, but not get to each other, for a few days or maybe a week. Then put them in together. Sometimes they will fight, but it's best to not interfere, so they can work things out between themselves.

I hope Bella has adjusted to her new friend by now. And again, I am sorry for the delay.
