QuestionI think some of our pigs are too thin. Should I worm them? Should I also add beet pulp to their feed?
AnswerNo photos were attached so I can not comment on your pigs.
Piglets should gain about 1 lb per week. Appearance is important - you should not be able to see or feel piggy's ribs. If piggy's face is puffy and you can't easily see the eyes, or piggy has a belly that looks like a basket ball, piggy is probably a bit over weight.
A healthy diet is pot-bellied pig pellets plus fresh veggies and fruits and grazing time when possible. A little beet pulp can substitute for grazing time in winter, but don't forget to offer other veggies and fruits.
