Questionsomeone before said that if the rat chatters its teeth a lot when its on you, it means shes happy. is that true? if not what does it mean? cause mine do it a lot once their out and about on my shoulders.
AnswerBruxing and chittering are different.. bruxing is grinding their teeth together with a closed mouth and generally indicates happiness or peacefulness.. chittering usually is accompanied by dirty looks and very puffy coat and defensive posture. Instead of a grinding noise, the rat's mouth actually opens and its teeth visibly clank together to cause the noise. That usually means you've got a grumpy rat. I'd bet your rats are bruxing, in which case, yes, you've got happy rats :)
