Questionmy daughters and husband all are getting rats frm the same litter and i was wondering could we keep them in the same cage or would they have to be apart as they get bigger???
AnswerHi
Rats LOVE company, but of course be sure males and females are far apart from the age of 5 weeks and up!
With males, I would suggest no more than 3 males per cage though since they do get large and they can be hormonal aroud 8 months (during puberty) You also need the right size cage. Too small and over crowded causes health problems
Here is how to figure how big the cage should be according to how many rats are in it:

Hope this helps!!
